We at Blockestry believe fabrics hold on to and reflect the way they are made, translating the creation process into the look and feel of the material.
Which is why we treat ours with the utmost respect, attention, and love. Our skillful artisans create every inch using organic dyes, hand-stamped onto fabrics using wooden blocks carved into teak.
In a world that is always on the run, Blockestry focuses all its effort into exceptionally contemporary pieces which are meticulously crafted with the intention to pay homage to slow fashion and revive the lost art of hand block printing.
We hope to bring the magic that is block printing to you in magnificent forms.
Reviving block print became even more important after we saw the surge in the ‘lawn culture’ over the past decade. Lawn with flamboyant, vibrant, and riveting prints on breathable fabrics have become part of our heritage and culture. However, this culture of ours is very seasonal.
Twice a year, designers across Pakistan come up with gorgeous prints on breathable lawn which go out of fashion as soon as the next season rolls around, aka fast fashion.
Fast fashion has become the world’s number one contributor to pollution and global warming, destroying the Earth.
Our philosophy stems from the realization that the Earth is not only our home but everything that keeps us alive. From the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, our shelter, and more, helps us to survive. Therefore, caring for her is something that should be inherent in us.
With an intense love for handprinted fabrics and a dire need to save Mother Earth, Blockestry emerged.
We aim to create timeless pieces with elegant silhouettes over durable fabrics which can be passed down through generations as an heirloom.
